Ada River Vineyard in Gippsland, Victoria is an interesting little place where head winemaker in the form of Peter Kelliher provides a real treat in his range of different wines, all created with great care in a very organic way.    Well worth dropping in as it's only and hour or so out of Melbourne and surrounded by the beautiful Gippsland scenery.

Michelini Wines

A Beautiful vineyard situated in the heart of the Alpine Valley wine region.  Focusing on Chardonnay, Merlot and Pinot Noir as well as some more interesting Varieties. The Cellar door has to be seen to be believed, situated in a majestic Italian sytle villa, making the wine taste even better.

Moorooduc Estate

Based on the Mornington Peninsula, Moorooduc Estate grows and buys fruit from around the region and blends it to make a range of typical cool climate wines.  The winery boasts "Jills Restaurant" which serves an excellent assortment of french and italian food throughout the week.  if you're touring the region then Moorooduc also has a small range of luxury suites available all year round.

Osborns produces a range of cool climate wines from its home on the Mornington Peninsula,  they run a cellar door and simple cafe which is open at weekends June - October, you can also book if you wish to visit at other times.

Otway Estate Winery offers a lot more than just wine, they have a range of beautiful cottages ideal for that romantic getaway or for extended stay if you're touring the area.  If you're visiting the cellar door is open 7 days a week offering their own and some local wines.

Bayview Estate Winery

Bayview Estate Winery based on the Mornington Peninsula is more than just a winery and cellar door.  They have a pub a restaurant, function facilities, the pub even sells a selection of English Ales as well as its own micro-brewed produce.   The winery produces a range of reds, whites and fortified wines ranging in quality and price with the Cabernet Shiraz Merlot 2001 amongst the best available.  The cellar door is open seven days a week throughout the year and caters for tastings and sales.

Shadowfax Wines

Shadowfax Wines draws its fruit from a range of wineries in South Australia and Victoria. Based just 30kms from Melbourne the winery makes for a good trip to the cellar door which is open every day from 11am.  Here, as well as serving up their excellent wine you can pick at some of the produce from the gourmet food store or have a freshly baked pizza in their cafe.

Steels Creek Estate

Steels Creek Estate is set very close to the Kinglake National Park in the Yarra Valley wine region so it makes an excellent visit as you can take in park and then relax with a spot of tasting at the cellar door afterwards which is open at weekends and during the holidays.

Sutton Grange Winery

Sutton Grange is a recent winery set among race horse country near Bendigo.  It produces a small range of very interesting varieties that are not usually associated with Australia, Viognier and Syrah.

All Saints Estate

All Saints Estate is one of the oldest wineries in Australia - Dating back to the 1860's and as such has is a fantastic setting for tourists and produces top quality wine in a wide range of varities.  The grounds hold a number of events throughout the year as well as private functions and weddings.Specialising mostly in the red wine varieties, especially the shiraz, as well as some of the finest quality fortified wines. Deakin Estate

Deakin Estate has a range of just under ten wines that are sold throughout the world in small quantites.  The Sparkling Brut  is an excellent alternative to Champagne for special occasions.  The winery is situated in the North East corner of Victoria very close to the border with New South Wales on the banks of the Murray River.

Falls Vineyard & Winery

The Falls Winery produces a range of three varieties of wine under the Longwood Label, Shiraz, Chardonnay and Semillon.  The winery is a few hours North of Melbourne and is run in conjunction with the Camerons By The Falls Retreat which provides bed and breakfast accommodation at the site of an old travelers rest.  There is a cellar door at the winery which is open weekends and during the holidays between 10am and 4pm.

Henkell Wines

Henkell Wines produces a mix of whites and reds in quite high volumes which are available throughout Australia.  They have a cellar door and cafe which is open work hours during the week but serves till later at the weekends, you can even order a pizza for pick up, the perfect solution if you're camping nearby and you've run out of gas!

Lyre Bird Hill Wines

As well as a winery, Lyre Bird Hill vineyard is also home to a lovely guesthouse that can sleep up to three couples at any one time.  They have a small range of whites and reds which sell to the tourist trade as well as local shops and restaurants.  The cellar door is open most days but is often best to ring in advance.

Idavue Estate is a family owned boutique vineyard, winery and cellar door. We are a producer of full bodied Heathcote Shiraz, and all our wines are cool climate premium Heathcote wines. The flavour and complexity in our wine is developed from the cool climate, and slower ripening grapes. The Heathcote region is renowned for its quality Shiraz.
