Providence Vineyards produces an excellent selection of mostly white wines, but with some premiums reds. They are the oldest vineyard in Tasmania that is still going today and have the wines to show for it. They have function facilities and a nice picnic area at the site which overlooks the surrounding mountains.

A large winery/tourism complex near Launceston overlooking the Tamar River in Tasmania. The vineyard produces a select range of white and red, including an Unwooded Chardonnay and Carbenet Savignon.The winery caters for large events such as weddings, provides accomodation and teams up with a local company to produce fly fishing breaks.

Stefano Lubiana Wines is a fairly large Tasmanian winery with a range of wines, in particular it is famous for its Brut sparkling wine which has received excellent reviews. The majority of wine is sent to the local Australian market but some does make it to the UK.Because the winery is so close to Hobart it makes for an excellent visit to the cellar door.

Wilmot Hills Vineyard produces a range of very different wines including fruit wines and cider. A very small vineyard run by the team of John and Ruth Cole. Some of the fruit wines on offer include rasberry, blackberry and elderberry.

Just 30 minutes out of Hobart and producing a mix of wines, Frogmore Creek Vineyard is a real up and coming winery which is looking to expand its production and on-site facilities. It does not have any visitor facilites yet and generally supplies grapes for other companies on a contract basis but watch out in the future..

Grandview focuses more on producing a wide range of gourmet organic cheese that on its wines but still produces a good small selection of wines from its six acres of vines. Visiting and tasting of the wines cheeses and other produces is 7 days a week 10-5pm. They also have a range of merchandise based around the wine and cheese making process in their shop.

Established in 1988, Hartzview Vineyard produces Pinot Noir and Chardonnay varieties of wine as well as a selection of fortified wines and mead. They also offer for sale some of the local wines from smaller wineries in the area.A range of bed and breakfast style accommodation is available all year round if you are looking to stay in the area.

Originally called Rowella Vineyard but now goes by the name of Iron Pot Bay Wines this winery has been producing wine since it was established in 1988 and has won awards since its first batch appeared on the market in 1991. The winery produces mostly white wines including a nice un-wooded Chardonnay.Tastings are available between September and May and lunches can be taken at the cafe that overlooks the Tamar river as it winds down to the sea.
