Middlebrook Estate

  The Middlebrook Estate winery has operated under various guises since at least 1947 but possibly much further back than that.  Today it is home to a state of the art wine complex, housing a cellar door, wine bar/restaurant and an art gallery.  All in the surrounds of a Tuscan style villa.  The wine range is extensive, with varieties to suit all palettes.

Parish Hill Wines

Parish Hill Wines is a small boutique winery in the Adelaide Hills wine region.  They focus on mostly Italian varieties of grape including the interesting Arneis Grape which is an alternative white grape.  They do not have a cellar door as yet but a special tasting and/or tour can be arranged if required.

St Hallett Wines

St Hallett Wines is a very well established and internationally recognised winery in the Barossa.  The have a wide range of whites and reds as well as one Sparkling wine call "Black NV" which is a Sparkling Shiraz.The Cellar Door is well worth a visit and you may even be able to get a tour of the wine facilities here.  They export to much of Europe, Asia and North and South America so you should be able to obtain a bottle just about anywhere.

Bird in Hand

Bird in Hand winery in the Adelaide Hills wine region combines their locally grown fruit with that of their second vineyard in the Clare Valley to produce premium cool climate specialty wines such as Pinot Noir and Semillon as well as an interesting methode champenoise.As well as the wine, Bird in Hand also produces a wide range of olives and olive oil, all of which can be tasted and bought along with the wine at the cellar door which is open 7 days a week, 10-3pm.

Veritas Winery

Veritas Winery is another award winning Barossa company, having won several awards recently in the highly competitive Barossa wine show.  Veritas have a wide range of wines that they export all over the world. The pick  of the wines being the Shiraz varieties, especially their premium 'Hanisch' Shiraz.The cellar door is open 7 days a week and is well worth a visit as part of the Barossa tour.

Aldinga Bay Winery

Aldinga Bay Winery produces a very wide varity of wines, including some new emerging types that are very new to Australia.  After inital success with shiraz and Merlot varieties, Italian styles such as Sangiovese have been grown successfully. A purpose built winery and cellar door was built in 1979.

Boston Bay Wines

Situated next to the Southern Ocean on Lincoln Highway in the Eyre Peninsula region,  Boston Bay wines is a very interesting small winery and well worth a visit if you're in the area.  Crushing 50 Tonnes of Grapes from their 16 Acre Vineyards means that there isn't a huge amount of wine into the market every year.  The best place to purchase the wine is in Adelaide as little goes further than South Australia.The Cellar Door is open at weekends on in the holidays, you may be able to book if you're coming out of those times.

Chateau Dorrien

Originally founded in 1913 but more recently rennovated, Dorrien Wines are producers of a wide range of red and white wine varieties in small volumes using fruit from their own vineyards as well as other local growers.  They also make a very interesting honey mead.  The cellar door is open 7 days a week and is kept warm by a log fire in the winter.

Angoves

Very large winery that owns one of the largest single vineyards in Australia, growing 19 different varieties of grape and producing a large range of wines as well as brandy and other spirits and fortified wines.

Foggo Wines

Foggo Wines is a excellent boutique winery based in the McLaren Vale wine district of South Australia.  In 2004 they wone the "Boutique Winery of the Year" from over 900 other Australian entrants.  Aside from the wines they also produce a nice olive oil from the olive trees that are used to protect the wines from the wind.The cellar door is open 7 days a week throughout the year.

Ballast Stone Estate Wines

Ballast Stone Estate is a very large winery with vineyards in McLaren Vale and Currency Creek.  They have 1200 acres under vine and produce grapes for their own varieties of wines and on a contract basis.  They have a large range of wines and export to the world market with their top range which includes their premium RMS label.  They have a cellar door which is open 10-4.30 for tastings every day of the year except Christmas and Good Friday.
