Ada River Vineyard

Ada River Vineyard in Gippsland, Victoria is an interesting little place where head winemaker in the form of Peter Kelliher provides a real treat in his range of different wines, all created with great care in a very organic way.    Well worth dropping in as it's only and hour or so out of Melbourne and surrounded by the beautiful Gippsland scenery.

Merricks Creek

An interesting boutique winery that only grows Pinot Noir in its vineyard and has received excellent ratings for its wines which are in very limited supply with new releases getting snapped up fast.

Merum

Based 20kms south east of Permberton in WA, Merum is a small Boutique winery that produces semillion and shiraz varieties in limited amounts each year. Both varieties have won numerours prizes around the world.If you're planning to visit the cellar door and tastings are by appoinment only.

Michelini Wines

A Beautiful vineyard situated in the heart of the Alpine Valley wine region.  Focusing on Chardonnay, Merlot and Pinot Noir as well as some more interesting Varieties. The Cellar door has to be seen to be believed, situated in a majestic Italian sytle villa, making the wine taste even better.

Middlebrook Estate

  The Middlebrook Estate winery has operated under various guises since at least 1947 but possibly much further back than that.  Today it is home to a state of the art wine complex, housing a cellar door, wine bar/restaurant and an art gallery.  All in the surrounds of a Tuscan style villa.  The wine range is extensive, with varieties to suit all palettes.

Millbrook Estate

Set amongst the beautiful Wollombi Valley, Millbrook Estate offers a great deal to tourist visiting the Hunter Valley region.  They have tastings available at certain times of the year as well as a cottage if you wish to extend your stay a little further.

Millbrook Winery

Millbrook Winery is fairly new on scence, having only existed since 2001.  They produce small batch high quality wines.  They have tastings by appointment only and a cafe which is open between 12 and 15:30 Mon-Sat.  Millbrook has a wide range of wines including reds, whites and rose varieties.

Mistletoe Wines

Based at Pokolbin in the Hunter Valley.  Mistletoe Wines is a small family run company that produces reds, whites, rose and fortified wines.  The winery is great to visit as they have the cellar door open 7 days a week as well as tastings in the evenings.  They also have a fantastic art gallery which sources its art locally.

Moorooduc Estate

Based on the Mornington Peninsula, Moorooduc Estate grows and buys fruit from around the region and blends it to make a range of typical cool climate wines.  The winery boasts "Jills Restaurant" which serves an excellent assortment of french and italian food throughout the week.  if you're touring the region then Moorooduc also has a small range of luxury suites available all year round.

Mount Majura Vineyard

Mount Majura is a small winery in the Australian Capital Territory, producing a range including; Riesling, Pinot Gris, Tempranillo and Pinot Noir amongst others.  It is owner by a collection of wine enthusiasts so you're sure to get a warm welcome if you visit the cellar door on Sundays.

Osborns produces a range of cool climate wines from its home on the Mornington Peninsula,  they run a cellar door and simple cafe which is open at weekends June - October, you can also book if you wish to visit at other times.

Paradise Estate Wines

Paradise Estate are a producer of tropical wines made from fruits that are grown in the tropical areas of Queensland.  The winery is based at Mission Beach in Far North Queensland and is open for tastings all year round with the cellar door based in the main production area so you can see what goes on whilst you sup on a sweet banana wine.Fruits that are used include mangos, bananas, coconut, pitaya and other tropical varieties.

Parish Hill Wines

Parish Hill Wines is a small boutique winery in the Adelaide Hills wine region.  They focus on mostly Italian varieties of grape including the interesting Arneis Grape which is an alternative white grape.  They do not have a cellar door as yet but a special tasting and/or tour can be arranged if required.

Pialligo Estate

Pialligo Estate is another excellent small winery that proides a good deal to people visiting the Canberra area.  There are tastings thursday to sunday that can be taken with a meal at the excellent restaurant/cafe. All this within a very short distance from the centre of Canberra.  They produce a good range of whites, reds and rose wines including the interesting 2002 Sangiovese.

Bayview Estate Winery

Bayview Estate Winery based on the Mornington Peninsula is more than just a winery and cellar door.  They have a pub a restaurant, function facilities, the pub even sells a selection of English Ales as well as its own micro-brewed produce.   The winery produces a range of reds, whites and fortified wines ranging in quality and price with the Cabernet Shiraz Merlot 2001 amongst the best available.  The cellar door is open seven days a week throughout the year and caters for tastings and sales.

Providence Vineyards

Providence Vineyards produces an excellent selection of mostly white wines, but with some premiums reds.  They are the oldest vineyard in Tasmania that is still going today and have the wines to show for it.  They have function facilities and a nice picnic area at the site which overlooks the surrounding mountains.

RiverBank Estate

Riverbank Estate, situated in the Swan Valley is another of Western Australia’s award winning wineries. Based only 25 minutes from the centre of Perth near Guildford, it boasts a cellar door and restaurant overlooking the vineyard. Established in 1993, Riverbank Estate has been making a range of whites, reds and dessert wines with the pick being the 1995 Cabernet Savignon.

Riversands Vineyards

Riversands produces a wide range of whites, reds and fortified wine from its base in the Maranoa of South Queensland.  The have been running close to ten years and have a string of awards and high ratings for their wines.  They have a cellar door which is open 7 days a week as well as a cafe which supplies lunchtime meals and cakes.

Rockfield Estate Vineyard

An award winning winery that produces grapes for its own wines as well as on a contract basis for other wineries.  There whites have done particularly well with the Semillon wining some prestigious awards.  The cellar door is open during the day 7 days a week and is accompanied by a small cafe which sell local produces.  Well worth a stop on the local wine tour as they will often take you on a trip around the winery.

Rosevears Estate

A large winery/tourism complex near Launceston overlooking the Tamar River in Tasmania.  The vineyard produces a select range of white and red, including an Unwooded Chardonnay and Carbenet Savignon.The winery caters for large events such as weddings, provides accomodation and teams up with a local company to produce fly fishing breaks.

Shadowfax Wines

Shadowfax Wines draws its fruit from a range of wineries in South Australia and Victoria. Based just 30kms from Melbourne the winery makes for a good trip to the cellar door which is open every day from 11am.  Here, as well as serving up their excellent wine you can pick at some of the produce from the gourmet food store or have a freshly baked pizza in their cafe.

Sittella Wines

Sittella was founded in 1998 and is already winning awards in national and international wine festivals. It has a range of whites and reds and dessert wines, often blends between grapes from their Swan Valley and Margaret River vineyards. Their Frontignac is especially nice after a rewarding meal.

Somerset Hill Wines

An interesting little winery on the near the wind swept Great Southern Ocean in Western Australia.  They produce a small range of wines including an un-wooded chardonnay which is a popular wine or the area.  There is a small cellar door which is open 11-4 all year round.

St Hallett Wines

St Hallett Wines is a very well established and internationally recognised winery in the Barossa.  The have a wide range of whites and reds as well as one Sparkling wine call "Black NV" which is a Sparkling Shiraz.The Cellar Door is well worth a visit and you may even be able to get a tour of the wine facilities here.  They export to much of Europe, Asia and North and South America so you should be able to obtain a bottle just about anywhere.

Steels Creek Estate

Steels Creek Estate is set very close to the Kinglake National Park in the Yarra Valley wine region so it makes an excellent visit as you can take in park and then relax with a spot of tasting at the cellar door afterwards which is open at weekends and during the holidays.
